(KNSI) – Minnesota adds 1,640 new COVID-19 cases and 33 deaths from the disease.

Friday’s deaths include one person from Wright County in their 70s. More than half of the state’s deaths Friday happened in residents of long-term care facilities.

In the five-county area, there are just 107 new confirmed cases: Benton County 12, Morrison County six, Sherburne County 18, Stearns County 41 and Wright County 30.

Minnesota processed almost 47,000 tests yesterday, and only 3.5 percent of those tests came back positive.

Hospitalizations are down slightly compared to Thursday; 612 people across the state are currently in the hospital for COVID-19, with 125 receiving intensive care.

COVID-19 vaccinations continue to go up, with the latest data showing more than 162,000 Minnesotans have gotten their first doses.
