(KNSI) – Officials with St. Cloud Area School District 742 are speeding up their plan to return kids to the classroom.
A press release from the district says the plans prioritize the youngest students balanced with the health and safety of staff, faculty, and students.
The targeted date for in-person learning for pre-kindergarten through 5th grade is February 3rd, and the students will return to a hybrid learning structure on January 19th. There will be no school for those grades on January 15th. That day will be a transition day for staff.
Students in grades six through 12 will tentatively return to the hybrid learning model starting February 1st with a tentative day off for staff transition on January 29th.
The district says it will continually monitor local case rates and make adjustments based on guidance from the Minnesota Departments of Health and Education and that, “All plans are contingent on the district’s operational capacity and community health. We remain eager to get our students back in school and believe our systematic, phased approach provides the best way to achieve this goal.”
