(KNSI) – A major construction project on Interstate 94 is wrapping up for the year.

I-94 is being widened between Maple Grove and Clearwater.

So far, crews have built temporary lanes to prepare for next year’s road resurfacing and widening, started to replace the Wright County Road 19 bridge in Albertville, and started work on the Highway 241 loop ramp in St. Michael.

Crews will wrap up some final activities through January 2020, including barriers near the Wright Co. Rd. 19 bridge remaining in place over the winter, and crews will work on the shoulders along I-94 between Highway 25 in Monticello and Highway 24 in Clearwater.

Next year, construction goes into full swing as I-94 between Maple Grove and Clearwater is resurfaced, the Highway 241 bridge of I-94 is replaced, and a roundabout built at 241 and O’Day Avenue, and a new I-94 bridge is built over County Road 19 in Albertville.
