(KNSI) – A candlelight vigil will be held on Thursday evening to honor the Service Members of the National Guard who died on December 5th in a helicopter crash.

“A Night of Military Remembrance” will be hosted by the Central Minnesota Warrior to Citizen- Beyond the Yellow Ribbon, a group of citizens and organizations that support service members and their families.

Chief Warrant Officer 2 James A. Rogers, Jr., Chief Warrant Officer 2 Charles P. Nord, and Sgt. Kort M. Platenberg will each be honored.

Anyone wishing to honor the crash victims or a Service Member or Veteran who died this past year is encouraged to come.

If you are not able to attend but would still like to honor the service members, turn on your porch light or light a candle at home.

The vigil will take place at Lake George, starting at 6 p.m.

A Beyond the Yellow Ribbon Memorial Fund has been set up in memory of the fallen soldiers. Donations can be mailed or dropped off at any Deerwood Bank location.
