MINNEAPOLIS, Minn. (AP) Minnesota Vikings fans will pay an average of $2,500 for the right to buy a season ticket in the team's new stadium.
The seat licenses are part of contracts negotiated with the team and made public Thursday. The licenses will be required for three-quarters of the stadium's 65,000 seats.
The seat licenses could start as low as $500 and will range up to $10,000. Fans who pay them off within three years won't pay interest.
The licenses are part of two key stadium development agreements. Those agreements don't cap what the Vikings can charge for the tickets themselves.
Gov. Mark Dayton had warned the Vikings against excessive seat-license costs. He says he doesn't like licenses but the state had to make a deal.
