MINNEAPOLIS (AP) — Minnesota Vikings defensive end Brian Robison has issued an apology on Twitter to Packers offensive lineman T.J. Lang after Robison kicked Lang in the groin during the game on Sunday.
Robison apologized to Lang, his team, and the NFL. He tweeted "I am not a dirty player and did not maliciously aim for the groin, just happened to be where it landed."
The altercation happened on a field goal try in the second quarter. Replays caught Robison kicking Lang in the groin on video, and he was flagged for a 15-yard-penalty personal foul.
Lang called Robison "a coward" after the Packers' 33-27 victory. But Robison says Lang started the sequence when he threw Robison to the ground and lunged at him. Robison says he was acting in self-defense.
