Vikings list $67 million in hidden costs to build at Dome

MINNEAPOLIS (AP) - The Minnesota Vikings say building a new stadium on the site of the Metrodome would come with $67 million in hidden costs not being advertised by Minneapolis leaders.

The team details those costs in a letter made public Tuesday.

The Vikings say they would need to spend three seasons playing at the University of Minnesota's TCF Bank Stadium. They say they would make $37 million less in that time. They say TCF would need nearly $11 million in facility upgrades, plus another $19 million to upgrade parking options.

The team says that would push the true cost at the Metrodome to $962 million. They say they still prefer to build in Arden Hills.

Gov. Mark Dayton has asked Ramsey County and Minneapolis leaders to finalize their stadium proposals by Thursday.
