MINNEAPOLIS (AP) Joey Browner is the next Minnesota Vikings great to be inducted into the team's Ring of Honor.
The Vikings made the announcement on Friday just before they opened the preseason with a game against the Houston Texans.
Browner played in Minnesota from 1983 through 1991. He made six Pro Bowls and still holds the team record for forced fumbles by a defensive back in a career with 18.
Browner says it's an honor to join such a distinguished group. Browner will be the 21st member of the franchise to be inducted into the Ring of Honor. The ceremony will take place at halftime of the game against Green Bay on October 27th.
