MINNEAPOLIS (AP) - The Minnesota Twins will start the 2013 season at home, April 1, 3 and 4 against Detroit.
This is the first time since moving outside they open at Target Field. They have 15 home games in April and 16 in September, with only 11 there in a stretch between June 21 and July 29. The schedule was released Wednesday.
With Houston switching leagues, American-National games will take place all season rather than during designated windows in May and June. The Twins host the New York Mets April 12-14 for three of their 20 interleague games, Johan Santana's first appearance in Minnesota since the trade five years ago.
The Twins will play Milwaukee four times instead of the usual six, with no weekend games and home-and-home consecutive two-game series May 27-30.
