Twins sign Jeff Clement

MINNEAPOLIS, Minn. (KNSI) The Minnesota Twins have announced they've signed first baseman Jeff Clement to a Minor League contract with an invitation to Spring Training.
The 29 year-old Clement was the third overall pick in the 2005 draft. He spent most of last season at Triple-A Indianapolis in the Pittsburgh organization. He batted .276 with 16 home runs and 57 runs batted in. He hit .136 in 22 at bats with the Pirates last year.
He's a career .218 hitter in the Major Leagues with the Mariners and Pirates with 14 career home runs.
