CHICAGO (KNSI) The Minnesota Twins open the 2014 Major League Baseball season today at Chicago against the White Sox.
The Twins are hoping for an improvement over the past three seasons, which have included more than 90 losses each season.
The Twins are pinning their optimism on a revamped starting pitching rotation that now includes veteran newcomers Ricky Nolasco and Phil Hughes.
This season also marks a change for the face of the franchise--Joe Mauer. The former American League batting champion has moved from behind the plate to first base, taking the spot of the now departed Justin Morneau.
Nolasco starts today's opener for the Twins. The home opener at Target Field is April 7th against the Oakland Athletics.
