FORT WAYNE, Ind. (KNSI) In a career filled with memorable moments, Thursday night may stand out above the rest for Nate Wolters.
The St. Cloud Tech graduate scored 53 points in South Dakota State's 80-74 win over Indiana-Purdue-Fort Wayne.
Wolters nailed nine three-point field goals in setting a single-game scoring record for the Jackrabbits.
It's the highest single game scoring performance in an NCAA Division One men's basketball game this season.
Wolters' previous high-point game was 36.
Wolters scored 38 points in the second half--one more point that the entire Fort Wayne team.
Jackrabbits coach Scott Nagy says Wolters was "in a zone," and there was nothing the opponent could do to stop him."
Earlier this season, Wolters became SDSU's career scoring leader. He has more than 2,000 career points.
