NORTH MANKATO, Minn. (AP) - Glen Taylor tells The Associated Press that he is looking for a minority partner who could eventually succeed him as the majority owner of the Minnesota Timberwolves.
Taylor bought the Timberwolves in 1994, saving the team from moving to New Orleans. He says that any partner he brings in would have to be committed to keeping the team in Minnesota.
Taylor hasn't put a timetable on when he wants to hand things over. He says the ideal scenario is to bring in someone to learn the ropes for a few years with an option in the agreement to eventually buy Taylor out.
The 71-year-old Taylor thinks such an arrangement would ``be in the best interest of Minnesota to make a transition that's logical.''
