ST. CLOUD, Minn. (KNSI) - St. Cloud's Lake George is closed to skaters and hockey players for the season.
The ice on the Eastman Park lake was deemed unsafe for public access Wednesday by the order of St. Cloud Park and Recreation director Scott Zlotnik.
Zlotnik said recent snow melt and stormwater runoff created actual holes in ice, leading to open water and unsafe conditions.
Law enforcement and other city personnel were expected to monitor the lake to make sure no one breaks the ban, Zlotnik said.
