ST. CLOUD, Minn. (KNSI) When the St. CLoud City Council meets Monday, they'll consider a resolution in support of St. Cloud's application to host "Hockey Day Minnesota 2015."

A group of community stakeholders has prepared an application to host the event in St. Cloud.

The Minnesota Wild and Fox Sports North issued a call for proposals to host Hockey Day in January or February 2015.

St. Cloud's local committee is offering to host Hockey Day's televised games at a temporary outdoor rink at Dick Putz Field. Ancillary community events would be held at Lake George.

Upon its selection, the organizing committee would execute a memorandum of understanding outlining the physical and financial responsibility of the project partners. Most cities who've hosted the event before have generated a profit after local costs through sponsorships, gate receipts and concessions and other revenue generating activities.
