ST. CLOUD, Minn. (KNSI) - St. Cloud State University sophomore relief ace Reese Gregory (St. Cloud, Minn./Apollo H.S.) has been named to the 2014 National Collegiate Baseball Writers Association's Division II All-America Team as a third team selection. This marks the second consecutive season that Gregory has been named to the NCBWA's All-America squad.
An All-NSIC First Team pick in 2014, Gregory ended his season with a team leading 10 wins (10-3) and seven saves. He charted 58 strikeouts and a 1.30 earned run average in 55.1 innings of work for the Huskies in 2014. In two seasons at SCSU, Gregory owns a team record of 17 career saves. A multi-talented player, Gregory also played third base for the Huskies and ranked second on the team with a .382 batting average that included 34 hits, seven doubles, 23 RBIs and 15 runs.
In addition to his NCBWA All-America honors in 2014, Gregory has also earned NCBWA, Daktronics and Rawlings/ABCA Division II All-Region honors.
The Huskies ended the season with a 37-14 overall record in 2014. In the always rugged NSIC, the Huskies placed third in the regular season standings with a record of 24-9 under the leadership of seventh year head coach Pat Dolan.
