INDIANAPOLIS - The first edition of the NCAA Central Region Baseball rankings were released on April 23. St. Cloud State University (28-9) was ranked fifth in the rankings.
The Huskies will be looking to gain their fifth consecutive NCAA tournament bid in 2014. SCSU has finished as the runner-up at the NCAA Division II Central Region tournament in 2010, 2012 and 2013.
The Central Region is made up of teams from the Northern Sun Intercollegiate Conference, the Mid-America Athletic Association and the Great American Conference. The top six teams in each region will advance to the NCAA Tournament, with the top seed in the region hosting.
The NCAA Division II Baseball Selection show will air via webcast at NCAA.com on Sunday, May 11 at 9 p.m. central time. Automatic bids are awarded to conference tournament winners from the NSIC, GAC, and the MIAA with the remaining three spots awarded on an at-large basis.
