MINNEAPOLIS (KNSI) – The City of Minneapolis announced Wednesday that it will host the 2014 USA Volleyball Girls' Junior National Championships at the Minneapolis Convention Center.
The eight-day tournament draws 10,000 athletes and 20,000 spectators each year with teams from 39 states competing. The tournament is expected to generate about $60 million in revenue for the Twin Cities are.
The city is still working with the Minnesota Twins to try to get Major League Baseball to host the 2014 All-Star game at Target Field.
