MINNEAPOLIS (AP) - The mother of Minnesota Gophers football player Gary Tinsley is expected to accept her late son's bachelor's degree Thursday.
The starting linebacker was found unresponsive in his dorm April 6 by his teammate and roommate Keanon Cooper. The 22-year-old Tinsley died of an enlarged heart.
The Gophers say other members of Tinsley's family will also attend the University of Minnesota spring commencement at Mariucci Arena. Tinsley earned a degree in business and marketing. Cooper tells the St. Paul Pioneer Press
(http://bit.ly/KNLJvK) he's expecting it to be emotional because he knows the amount of effort it took to earn the degree.
