SARTELL, Minn. (KNSI) – Sophomore Tom Bearson scored 24 points for the Sabres, but it wasn't enough as Melrose hung on for a 75-72 overtime win.
Sartell, who was down 10 points at halftime, fought their way back to tie the game at the end of regulation at 62, but Melrose's Scottie Stone scored 6 of his 24 points in overtime to preserve the win for the Dutchmen.
The win moves the Dutchmen's records to 9-3 overall, 3-0 in conference play. The out of conference loss drops the Sabres record to 3-8 and 2-4 in Central Lakes play.
