REGION 7B GAME SUMMARIES
The Bees of Brainerd defeated Lakewood rival Beaudreaus Saints 9-2. The Bees were led by an outstanding pitching performance by Blake Eller, he threw a complete game. Blake gave up just two hits, walked 2 and he recorded 15 strikeouts. He pitched to a total of 30 batters, just three over the minimum. Blake Eller led the Bees on offense as he went 5-6 with a triple, 2 doubles and 3 RBI's. Tyler Lenz went 2-5 with a double and 2 RBI's, Blake Peterson went 2-5 with a double and 2 RBI's and Joel Martin went 2-4 with a RBI. The pitcher of record for the Saints was D. J. Schliecher, he threw 6 2/3 innings and Dan Kronenberg threw 2 1/3 innings. Ryan Schneider had a 2 run homer in the seventh inning following a walk to Chad Hockemeyer and Chad Hockemeyer had a single in the fourth inning. The Saints were missing 4 Legion ball players, that are participating at the Regional Legion Tournament in Fargo. They were short three other regulars as well, surely would have made this a much more competitive game.
The Springers of Cold Spring defeated the Bees of Brainerd 6-4 in their first round of Region 7B action. Zach Femrite was the winning pitcher as he threw 7 1/3 innings, he scattered 6 hits, walked 4 and recorded 9 strikeouts. Justin Thompson earned the save with 1 2/3 of relief he gave up 3 hits, walked 1 and struck out one. Ben Griffin had a big nite with, going 3-4 with 1 RBI and a run scored and Tyler Geislinger also had another big night, as he went 2-4 with 2 big doubles and 2 RBI's. Justin Thompson went 1-4 with a double and 2 RBI's and Drew VanLoy went 2-3 with a double and a run scored. Kevin Votaw was the pitcher of record for the Bees, he went 6 1/3 innings and Joel Martin threw 1 2/3 innings of relief. Joel Martin went 2-3 with a sacrifice and a RBI and Tyler Lenz had a big night as he went 3-5 with a run scored and a RBI. Tom Fairbanks went 2-5 with a sacrifice and a RBI and Jack Hagerty went 1-4 with a double and a RBI.
The A's of Marshall topped the Cyclones of Sauk Rapids in Region 7B action 6-2, behind the pitching performance of Steve Wehr, as he went 7 innings, scattered 5 hits , 3 walks and he recorded 7 strikeouts. Travis McGlauflin earned the save with 2 innings of relief, he walked 2 and he record 2 strikeouts. Tanner Neale went 4-4 with 2 doubles and 2 RBI's and Jordan Kontz went 2-4 with a RBI. Jared Carlson went 2-4 with a double and a triple and Austin Stubbs went 2-4. Andy Thayer was the pitcher of record for the Cyclones, as he went 6 innings, he gave up 10 hits, no walks and recorded 2 strikeouts, Grant Chapa threw 2 innings of relief. Tommy Wippler went 2-4 with a RBI and Joel Haller went 2-5 with a walk. Tyler Bjork went 1-2 with a double and Nate Freihammer went 1-4.

Brad Haag was the starting pitcher 6 1/3 innings, he scattered 5 hits, had 3 walks and he recorded 11 strikeouts. David Koenig earned the win with 2 1/3 of relief. Waylon Bemboom went 2-4 with a double, 2 runs scored and 2 RBI's. Ryan Schneider went 2-4 and Nick Hengel went 2-4. Dave Carlson went 1-4 and Brad Haag went 1-3 with a sacrifice. Grant Chapa was the pitcher of record for the Cyclones as he threw 6 innings, gave up 3 hits and struck out 2. Nate Friehammer threw 3 innings of relief, he gave up 3 hits and he 3 strikeouts. Tommy Wippler went 2-4 and scored 2 runs and Jessie Lavoi went 1-4 with a RBI.
The Springers of Cold Spring qualified for the state tourney with a big win over the A's of Marshall 4-3, behind the solid pitching performance of Mathias Butala, he went 7 innings, scattered 7 hits, walked 4 and recorded 6 strikeouts for the win. Justin Thompson earned the save with 2 innings of relief, he gave up 2 hits, waked 1. Drew VanLoy went 1-4 with a double, run scored and a RBI and Tyler Geislinger 1-4 with a RBI. Zach Femrite went 1-3 with a double and a walk and Joe Dempsey went 2-4. Zach Hinkemeyer went 1-4 with a run scored, Alex Jungels went 1-4 and Garret Fuchs had 2 sacrifices and a RBI. This writer has to tip his hat to Tyler Geislinger as he made possibly a game saving catch in the 9th inning. The pitcher of record for the A's was Brandon Alfson as he threw all 9 innings. James Carlson went 1-3 with a sacrifice, a walk and 2 RBI's and Jordan Kontz went 2-4 with a sacrifice. Ben Korger went 2-3 with 2 runs scored and 2 walks and Austin Stubbs went 1-3 with a double and a walk.

Phil Imholte had a good game, he went 2-3 with 2 stolen bases and he scored 2 runs. Waylon Bemboom had a big night as he went 2-4 with a triple and a run scored and Ryan Schnieder aided his own cause, as he went 2-4 with a RBI. Reese Gregory, Nick Hengel, Dave Carlson, Brad Haag and Chad Hockemeyer all got singles. The Saints will now advance to play A's of Marshall for a spot in the state tourney. Blake Peterson was the pitcher of record for the Bees, he threw all 9 innings. He scattered 11 hits, walked 1 and struck out 8. Blake Eller had another great game, going 3-4 and Tyler Lenz went 2-4 with a double and a RBI. Jack Hagerty went 1-4 with a walk and a RBI and Tom Fairbanks went 1-3 with a walk and a run scored. Kyle Crocker, Joel Martin and Kevin Totaw all got singles.
