There will be three postings this week, one will include the Class C state match ups and the state bracket. Region 7B updated brackets game summaries and the Class C summaries from Region 1C and 11C.The Class C Teams have all 48 spots in the state tourney filled. The Class B teams have all their 16 qualifiers determined, with seeding games remaining. See the posted brackets. Region 11C Game Recaps

The Clippers of Watkins topped Central Valley League rivals the Rockies of Cold Spring 9-7, behind the pitcher performance of Dan Berg. He scattered 8 hits, he also recorded 5 strikeouts, as he threw a complete game. Mia Kramer had a big night as he went 3-4 with 2 RBI's and Tyler Long went 2-5 with 2 big RBI's. Dallas Everson went 2-5 with a RBI, and Adam Hiltner went 2-5 with a triple, walked and 3 runs scored. Dan Berg went 1-4 with a walk a two huge RBI's and Brandon Ashton went 2-4 with a walk and a RBI. Rick Burtzel was the pitcher of record for the Rockies, he threw 3 2/3 innings, Chris Lardy threw 3 1/3 innings of relief and Jake Hennen threw 2 innings of relief. David Jonas went 2-5 with 2 solo home runs and Rick Burtzel went 2-5 with a solo home run. Mike Ficker had a very good game as he went 3-4 and scored a run, Josh Porwall went 1-5 with 2 RBI's and Kevin Wenner went 2-5 with a double, scored a run and a RBI.

The Brewers of Luxemburg topped Corn Belt foe the Rockets of Raymond in the Region 11C elimination game 4-3. Austin Klaverkamp had an awesome performance, as he threw a compete game. He scattered 4 hits, had no walks and recorded 7 strikeouts. Austin Klaverkamp also had a great game at the plate, as he went 2-4 with a RBI and Isaac Matchinsky went 2-3 with a stolen base, walk and a RBI. Derek Albers went went 2-4 with a RBI and Greg "The Cat" Terres went 1-4 with a RBI. Tyler Knott took the loss for the Rockets, he threw 8 innings, he gave up 11 hits, had 3 walks and he recorded 7 strikeouts. Jason Meyer went 1-3 with home run and Tyler Steen went 1-4 with a double an a RBI.

The Brewers of Luxemburg topped Central Valley League rival the Clippers of Watkins 11-7, to qualify for the first time in 117 years for the state amateur baseball tournament. Behind the outstanding relief pitching performance of young Isaac Matchinsky, he threw 3 2/3 innings of relief, gave up 3 hits, walked 2 and he recorded 6 strikeouts. Isaac just graduated from Tech High School this spring. Mitch Ergen was the starting pitcher, he went 3 innings and Casey Underwood threw 2 1/3 innings of relief. Colten Fruth had a big night as he went 2-5 with a huge 3 run homer and a double for 3 RBI's. Derrick Orth had another great night as he went 2-3 with a double, 2 runs scored and 3 RBI's. Derek Albers went 2-5 with a double, 2 runs scored and a RBI. Isaac Matchinsky went 2-6 with thundering double of the center field wall and 2 runs scored.  Greg "The Cat" Terres had a big double for a RBI. Having a huge night on both defense and with the bat was Cory Wenz, he went 3-5 with a triple, 2 doubles and a RBI, Cory also made a huge play as he dove to stop what was surely a double down the line late in the game along with several other good defensive plays. Kevin Kramer was the pitcher of record for the Clippers, Dan Berg threw 3 2/3 inning of relief and Bruce Geislinger and Dustin Kramer both threw a inning of relief. Dan Berg went 2-5, Dallas Everson went 2-4, Tyler Long went 1-5 and Kevin Kramer had a big triple for 3 RBI's.

The Gussies of St. Augusta topped Central Valley League rival the Express of Kimball 8-4, behind the pitcher performance of Travis Laudenbach. Travis threw a complete game, he walked 2 and scattered 7 hits. Nate Laudebach had a big night with a 3-5 game, he had a double and 3 RBI's. Adam Gwost went 1-3 with a home run, walk and a RBI and Nate Gwost went 1-3 with a RBI. Brady Grafft went 2-3 with a double, walk and a RBI and Marcus Lommell went 2-5 with 2 runs scored. Zach Dingman was the pitcher of record for the Express as he threw a complete game. Scott Marquardt had a big game as he went 3-5 with a RBI and Ben Johnson went 1-5 with a double and a RBI. Austin Ruehle went 1-3 with a RBI, Jordan Joseph went 1-2 with a double and Brian Marquardt went 1-1, scored a run and had a RBI.

The Express of Kimball topped Central Valley League rival the Brewers of Luxemburg 4-0 in a 7 inning; rain shorten game. This gave the Express the No. 2 seed in the Region as the final games were called. Zach Dingman earned the win as he threw 6 2/3 innings, he scattered 7 hits, walked 2 and stuck out 6. Jordan Joseph earned the save as he retired the last two Brewer hitters. Brooks Marquardt had a great day as he went 3-4 with 2 doubles, a stolen base and 3 big RBI's. Matt Dingmann went 1-2 with a sacrifice and a run scored, Adam Dingman went 1-1 as a pinch hitter and he score a run and Austin Ruehle had a sacrifice, a stolen base and 1 RBI. The Brewers pitcher of record was Nick Baker, as he threw all 7 innings, he had a very good game, as he scattered 5 hits, walked just 2 and record 2 strikeouts. Austin Ciccati had a big game as he went 3-3 with a walk for the Brewers. Ethan Fruth, Isaac Matchinsky, Greg "The Cat" Terres", Austin Klaverkamp and Derick Albers all had singles. The Express have built a 23-5 record now on the season as they earn the No. 2 seed out of Region 11C.

 

Region 1C Region Game Recaps

The Muskies of Sartell came back to top the Knights of Hinckley 6-5 to qualify for the state tourney. Travis Weaver was the starting pitcher, he went 3 innings and Cody Partch threw 6 innings of relief to earn the win, he walk 3, scattered 11 hits and struck out 2. Luke Sweeter swung a big stick for the Muskies as he went 3-4 with 2 doubles, walk and 2 RBI's. Tony Schmitz went 2-4 with a walk and 2 RBI's and Tim Burns went 1-3 with 2 stolen bases, 2 walks, 1 run scored and a RBI and Brian Schellinger went 2-5 with a run scored.

The Muskies of Sartell topped the Mora Blue Devils for the No. 1 seed out of Region 1C, 14-4 in a game stopped after 7 innings, due to the 10 run rule. They pounded out 18 hits as they defeated the same pitcher that beat them a week ago. Grant Mackenthun threw 5 innings, he scattered 10 hits, walked just 1 and he recorded 2 strikeouts. Chad Schwegel a draftee from the Joes of St. Joseph earned the save with 2 innings of work, he faced six batters and struckout 2! Tim Burns had a huge day as he went 2-4 with a home run, walk, scored 3 runs and had 4 RBI's. Jake Sweeter had a very good day as he went 3-5 with 2 runs scored and 3 RBI's and Brian Schellinger went 3-4 with a stolen base, 2 runs scored and 1 RBI. Andrew Deters went 3-5 with 3 runs scored, Jace Otto had a double for 2 RBI's and Tony Schmitz went 2-5 with a double and a run scored. They have built a record of 25-5 as they will wait now to play the second weekend of the state tourney, as region champions get a bye the first round!

The Stone Poneys of Sartell had their season ended in an elimination game to the Knights of Hinckley 11-1, the pitcher of record for the Poneys was Jeff Amann. Josh Rathbun went 2-3, Rob Gabrielson went 1-3 with a double, Jeff Aman went 1-2 with a walk and Austin Timm went 1-3 with a walk. Travis Moreno went 1-3 with their lone RBI.
