Ben Johnson earned the win for the Express as he went 2/3 of an inning, he walked one and gave up a hit. Adam Beyer provided a huge part of their offense with a 3 run homer in the 3rd inning. Many estimated his home run to be nearly 390 plus feet. Brian Marquardt had a great day as he went 2-4 with a solo homer and Brooks Marquardt went 2-5 with 2 runs scored and 2 stolen bases. Kyle Winter went 1-4 with a walk and Austin Ruehle went 1-4 with a run scored. This game took over 5 1/2 hours to complete. They started at about 2:30 and it was stopped by rain in Jordan with the score being 6-4 with the bases loaded with Blue Jays. The rain came and that was it for the Jordan field on Sunday, they were going to move it over to Belle Plaine and finally they moved it over 20 miles to the west in Arlington. Ben Johnson took the mound for the Express after the long delay and he gave up a bad hop single for two Plato runs, this tied the game going into the bottom the 9th. But not before a line drive out and they doubled up a Blue Jay runner. Brooks started the inning with a single and a stolen a base and Scott Marquardt walked, with runners at 1st and 3rd Ben Johnson got a huge walk off single for the game winning run.
The Brewers of Luxemburg took on the big boys, the Brewers of Jordan and they battled them to the end. The Brewers had their season ended 5-1. Austin Klaverkamp was the pitcher of record, as he threw 4 1/3 innings and Nathan Deutz a draftee from the Milroy Yankees threw 3 2/3 inning of relief, he walked 3 and gave up 2 hits. Austin Ciccati went 2-4 and Derrick Orth went 1-3 with a walk and a RBI. Greg Terres, Derek Albers and Colton Fruth all had a base hit for the Brewers. The Brewers season came to an end, but with their 16-12 mark they are already looking forward to another season. But they will not forget this one for a long time. The Brewers fans were just awesome as well, the ball players showed their appreciation, as all of them tipped their hats to the crowd after the game.
