The Brewers of Luxemburg topped Central Valley League foe the Gussies of St. Augusta 7-4 behind the pitching performance of Austin Klaverkamp. He scattered 11 hits over 9 innings, walk no one and recorded 6 strikeouts. Colton Fruth went 2-5 with 2 RBI's and Cory Wentz went 1-4 with a big double for 2 RBI's to lead the Brewers offense. Greg Terres and Derrick Orth both went 1-4 with with one RBI each and Luke Harren went 2-4 with a double and he score 2 runs.

Tanner Skaja went 2-4 and scored 2 runs and Austin Cicatti went 2-4 with a stolen base and a run scored.  No details was sent on the Gussies! The Brewers will now play Kimball for the No. 1 Seed in the North Central Valley on Sunday. St. Augusta will now play Sacred Heart in the play-in game at Watkins on Saturday.

 

The Rockies of Cold Spring topped Central Valley League rival the Hawks of Eden Valley 10-8. Josh Porwall was the pitcher of record as he threw 5 1/3 innings, Chris Lardy provide 2 2/3 innings of relief. Getting the save for the Rockies was Jake Hennen as he recorded 3 strikeouts in the ninth inning. Marshall Wirtzfeld was one of the Rockies leaders on offense, as he had 3 hits and 2 RBI's and Kevin Wenner also had 3 big RBI's. David Jonas drove in 2 runs, Reece Hemmesch collect 3 big hits on the night and Big John Rossman had a double. The Rockies will now play the Clippers of Watkins for the No. 1 Seed in the South Central Valley on Sunday.

 

The Express, Rockies, Luxemburg and St. Augusta will be playing in the Region 11C tournament held in Watkins against teams from the Corn Belt League. Those teams include the Yankees of Milroy, Bullfrogs of Bird Island, Saints of Sacred Heart and the Rockets of Raymond. Please see the brackets above.
