FAYETTE, Iowa (KNSI) - Nothing came easy on the road for the Huskies Saturday night, but both the men's and women's squads emerged with victories over Upper Iowa.
Jordi Gerking scored 15 points to lead the Husky women to their third NSIC victory 73-70 over the Peacocks. Nicole Anderson added 13 points and four steals in the contest as the Huskies moved to 3-5 in conference play.
Meanwhile, it took overtime for the Husky men's squad to sneak past Upper Iowa 74-68 and pick up their fifth straight victory, improving to 7-1 in conference play. Shaun Jensen led all scorers with 15 points, while Tim Bergstraser chipped in 12 in the winning cause.
Both teams return to action Sunday afternoon at Winona State. The women get things started, tipping at 2 p.m. against the Warriors. The men's game is scheduled for 4 p.m. All of the action can be heard live on 1010 AM WMIN.
