The St. Cloud State Husky women's basketball team struggled to knock down shots in a 63-41 loss to the Wayne State Wildcats Friday night. The Huskies kept Wayne close with solid defense in the first half, but ended up shooting just 24% for the game as they drop to 6-8 in conference play. Carley Jeffery and Jordi Gerking each had eight points.
In the night cap Friday the Husky men's squad trailed for most of the game before taking a one point lead with under three minutes remaning and won 54-51 over a scrappy Wildcats team. Tim Bergstraser, Brett Putz and Theo Rothstein all led the way for the Huskies with 11 points. The narrow win moves the second place Huskies to a 12-2 conference record.
Both teams travel to Sioux Falls, SD to take on Augustana Saturday. Pregame coverage starts at 3:30 p.m. on 1010 AM WMIN.
