ST. CLOUD, Minn. (KNSI) - After a perfect weekend on the road one week ago, the St. Cloud State Husky men's and women's basketball teams opened up the weekend perfect at home with a pair of victories over Minnesota-Crookston Friday night.
In the first game of the evening the Husky women came back from a nine point half-time deficit to win, 75-67 and improve thier conference record to 6-6. The post play of Jessica Benson and Aaryn Booker led the way as each reached double figures on the night, Benson leading all scorers with 19 points.
A gutty 1-10 Crookston men's team made life tough on the Husky men in the night cap, but the Huskies pulled away late to win 69-57. Shaun Jensen paced all scorers with 19 points, one off his career high, while Theo Rothstein and Tim Bergstraser each scored 15. The win coupled with an MSU-Moorhead loss, puts the Huskies in sole posession of second place in the NSIC.
