ST. CLOUD, Minn. (KNSI) - One versus two in the NCHC was a one sided affair as the Huskies topped Minnesota-Duluth 5-3 to hold on to sole possesion of first place in conference.
With first place on the line, the Huskies started off with their best period of the season scoring four goals in the first 20 minutes taking a 4-0 lead into intermission. The goals came from Nic Dowd, Joey Benik, Kevin Gravel and Jimmy Murray. In the 2nd period, Duluth cut that lead in half with two of their own.
With the Bulldogs having all the momentum heading into the 3rd, the Huskies answered back with Murray's second of the game. Duluth added one late, but it wasn't enough.
The Huskies look for the sweep tomorrow night as they host the Bulldogs, which can be heard on AM 1450 FM 103.3 KNSI, pregame starts at 6:40pm.
