ST. CLOUD, Minn. (KNSI) -It took the full 60 minutes, but the Huskies stayed hot getting a 4-3 win over the Duluth Bulldogs.
In a sold out Herb Brooks National Hockey Center, many Husky fans got to their seat in the first period with the Huskies already up 1-0, thanks to Jimmy Murray and his 9th goal of the season. That lead held until the final minute of the period when Duluth's Caleb Herbert found the back of the net knotting it up at 1-1.
In the second period, the Huskies once again got started quickly as Ethan Prow netted his 3rd goal of the season. A few minutes later forward Ryan Papa added on his 4th goal of the year. The Bulldogs answered with Dominic Toninato beating the Huskies to make it 3-2 were it stood after two.
In the third the Bulldogs tied at three apiece, but Jonny Brodzinski, who had been all around the net all weekend long, put the Huskies ahead for good with just under two minutes left.
The win keeps the Huskies in sole possesion of first place in the NCHC as they head to Miami of Ohio next week, a series you can hear on AM 1450 FM 103.3 KNSI.
Don't forget, Monday night KNSI's own Dan Terhaar will be hosting the "Bob Motzko Coaches Show" live at the Green Mill in downtown St. Cloud, and can be heard here on AM 1450 FM 103.3 KNSI at 6pm.
