ST. CLOUD, Minn. (KNSI) - On a night when the Huskies needed to answer, they did and they did it quickly getting a 3-0 shutout win.
Twenty-four hours after losing on the road at the last place team in the NCHC, the Huskies came roaring out of the gates as Jimmy Murray buried his 9th goal of the season. Right after scoring, Murray was elbowed in the head, drawing a double minor. That power play had the Huskies back on the attack, netting a power play goal from David Morley just over a minute later.
After a scoreless seond, the Redhawks were still unable to figure out Husky goaltender Ryan Faragher. In the 3rd forward Nic Dowd and the Husky power play put a final nail in the coffin, extending the Huskies lead to 3-0.
With the win, the Huskies will stay on top of the NCHC standings heading into next weekend's series against North Dakota.
