ST. CLOUD, Minn. (KNSI) - The St. Cloud State Husky men's basketball team sent their long-time head coach out in style with a 92-60 victory over Bemidji State Saturday night at Halenbeck Hall. The win gives SCSU a share of the NSIC North Division title for 2013-2014.
Saturday night marked the final regular season game in the coaching career of Kevin Schlagel, the all-time winningest coach in the history of the program.
Jordan Poydras led the Huskies with 30 points in the contest. He had six assists as well in the finale of his sophomore year. Senior Demarius Cruz had 19 points as well as the senior played his final regular season home game at Halenbeck Hall.
As part of a three-way tie the Huskies end up as the #3 seed in the NSIC tournament and will host the University of Sioux Falls Wednesday night at 8 p.m. for the chance to play on in the conference tournament next weekend in Sioux Falls.
