Gophers defeat Ohio State

MINNEAPOLIS, Minn. (KNSI) Rachel Banham's 24 points led three players in double figures as the University of Minnesota women's basketball team defeated Ohio State 83-74 at Williams Arena Thursday night.

Micaella Riche added 20 points for the Gophers, and Kionna Kellogg chipped in 13.

Minnesota jumped out to a commanding 50-31 halftime lead. Ohio State closed the gap to eight points with a minute to play, but got no closer than that.

The Gophers improved to 13-4 on the season, and 2-1 in Big Ten Conference play. They're off until January 17th, when they play at Purdue.
