BLOOMINGTON, Ind. (KNSI) The Minnesota Gophers women's basketball team closed out the regular season with a 59-53 road victory at the University of Indiana on Sunday.
Junior center Micaella Riche recorded her fifth double-double of the season, scoring 17 points and grabbing 15 rebounds to lead Minnesota. Sophomore guard Rachel Banham chipped in 15 points and six assists and freshman guard Shayne Mullaney added 11 points and five rebounds.
With the win, the Gophers improved to 18-12 on the season, and finished 7-9 in Big Ten Conference play.
Minnesota's next action will be at the Big Ten Tournament at Sears Centre Arena in suburban Chicago beginning Thursday.
The Gophers will be the seventh or eight seed. Minnesota's seed and opponent will be announced Sunday night.
