BALTIMORE (AP) - Dave Boswell, who won 20 games for the Minnesota Twins in 1969 despite missing a couple of weeks after a fight with manager Billy Martin, has died. He was 67.
Boswell went 68-56 for Minnesota, Detroit and Baltimore from 1964-71. The Orioles say the right-hander died Monday night at his home in Joppa, Maryland.
Boswell pitched in 205 games, 151 of them starts. The Baltimore native threw 37 complete games, including six shutouts, and finished with a 3.52 ERA.
His best season was in 1969, when he went 20-12 with a 3.23 ERA. He had 10 complete games.
Boswell made news off the field that same season. In August, he received 20 stiches after being punched by Martin during a fight in a parking lot in Detroit.
