COLLEGEVILLE, Minn. (KNSI) Today is the deadline for candidates to apply for the head football coaching job at St. John's University.
Johnnies Athletic Director Tom Stock says he's received about 20 applications so far. He's not releasing the names of any of those coaches, but says he's happy with the pool of people the search committee will choose from.
Interviews with a short list of coaches will begin next week. Stock says St. John's could introduce its new coach before Christmas.
John Gagliard announced his retirement last month after 60 years at St. Johns. He's college football's all-time career leader in wins--with 489.
