ST. PAUL, Minn. (AP) - Gov. Mark Dayton is telling leaders in Minneapolis and in Ramsey County to finalize their proposals to be the site of a new Minnesota Vikings stadium so state lawmakers can decide between them.

Dayton sent letters Thursday to Minneapolis Mayor R.T. Rybak and Ramsey County Board Chairman Rafael Ortega. Dayton set a deadline of 5 p.m. next Thursday to submit proposals with "as much detailed information as possible'' about how they will pay a local cost share, ownership and operating structures, and arguments for why their site is superior.

Ramsey County has proposed building on a suburban site in Arden Hills. Minneapolis has discussed three potential sites. Two are near Target Field, and the other is at the current Metrodome site.

Vikings owners prefer the Ramsey County site.
