Sports for Wednesday, August 13th

 

MLB: Astros 10, Twins 4

-       Oswaldo Arcia had 2 HR’s in the loss

-       Yohan Pino drops to 1-5 on the season after giving up 7 earned runs in 4 and a third innings of work

-       Twins and Astros finish up their 3 game set today with some day baseball

-       Kyle Gibson (10-9) vs. Brett Oberholtzer (4-7), first pitch is at 1:10pm

 

-       Twins will then return home to take on the Kansas City Royals for four games

 

-       Twins top prospect, and the top ranked prospect in all of baseball, Byron Buxton, was promoted to Double-A. He has missed most of this season with a wrist injury he suffered in spring training.

 

NBA:

-       The league will release their full schedule tonight at 5pm on the NBA network. According to reports the marque match-up on Christmas will be the Cleveland Cavs heading to Miami as LeBron will take on his old team

-       The sale of the LA Clippers is now final, the franchise was sold for 2 billion dollars

 

NFL:

-       A joint practice between the Raiders and Cowboys got out of hand yesterday as a huge brawl between the two teams went up against a fan that separated fans from the action. During the brawl a fan, holding a Raiders helmet, hit Cowboys cornerback BW Webb in the head 3 times.

-       The Vikings second preseason game is Saturday as the Cardinals come to TCF Bank

-       More football tomorrow night as the Jaguars and the Bears hook up on ESPN at 7pm

 

WNBA: Sparks 71, Lynx 63

-       Maya Moore had 20 points for the Lynx who have lost two games in a row
