MLB: Twins 2, Royals 1

-       Kyle Gibson was awesome, 7 innings, 2 hits and 7 strikeouts picking up his 9th win of the year

-       Gardenhire was ejected after arguing a replay call

-       Same two teams back at it again tonight in Kansas City, first pitch at 7:10pm

-       Danny Duffy (5-10) vs. Phil Hughes (10-7) is the pitching match-up

 

-       Tomorrow is the non-waiver trade deadline, 4pm EST

 

-       Vin Scully announced yesterday that he will return for his 66th season next year

 

Northwoods League: Honkers 2, Rox 0

-       Mankato Moondogs vs. Rox at Joe Faber Field tonight, first pitch at 7:05pm

 

NFL:

-       San Antonio Raiders? According to sources the Oakland Raiders have met with city representatives of the Texas city about moving the team to the lone star state. The Raiders are unhappy with their stadium situation with the Oakland A's.

 

Sports News:

-       ESPN has suspended host Steven A. Smith for 1 week for his comments earlier this week on the Ray Rice suspension. Smith speaking on the 2 game suspension for Rice's assault on his wife, alluded to her role in the attack saying that Rice's wife could have provoked Rice to hit her.

 

XGames:

-       Congrats to Alise Post, who came in 2nd in the BMX Women's Super Elite World Championships, which took place in the Netherlands over the weekend.
