MLB: World Series, Game 1, 7:07pm

-          Thanks to the All Star game win by the American League, Kansas City has home field advantage

-          Madison Bumgardner vs. James Shields is the pitching match-up

-          Royals are 8-0 so far in the post-season

-          Kansas City is baseball crazy and are offering some memorabilia, including empty champagne bottles from the Wild Card celebration (100 dollars apiece) 

 

-          Paul Molitor is having a second meeting with Twins GM Terry Ryan. Molitor is considered the favorite, but is not expected to be offered the job today

 

Olympic: Oscar Pistorius was sentenced to 5 years in prison for killing his girlfriend. He could be released in al little as 10 months to serve the rest under house arrest

 

NFL:  Steelers 30, Texans 23

-          Pittsburgh scored 24 points in under 4 minutes at the end of the 1st half

-          Vikings are in action Sunday when they take on the Tampa Bay Bucs at noon

 

-          Thursday night: Chargers vs. Broncos, 7:25pm

 

NHL: Wild are off until Thursday when they take on Arizona

 

NBA: Pacers @ Timberwolves, 7pm

-          T-Wolves are 2-2 on the preseason

-          Wolves open regular season October 29th

 

College Hockey: St. Cloud State is on the road this weekend, taking on defending National Champion Union, games can be heard Friday and Saturday nights on Lite Rock 99.9 starting at 5:30pm

-          The St. Cloud Tech Girl's Tennis team is in action in the state playoffs in team action Tuesday against Minnetonka (2pm)

 

-          The Sartell girls and Apollo boys are in the state tournament later this week in soccer
