MLB: A's 6, Twins 1
- The loss finishes off a three game sweep for the A's
- Brian Dozier's solo homerun was the lone run for the Twins and one of their 3 hits
- Mike Pelfrey was rocked, 5 innings, 9 hits, 4 walks and 6 earned runs
- Twins host Royals for a 3 game set starting tonight
- Bruce Chen (KC) vs. Kyle Gibson (MN) pitching match-up
 
NBA: Rockets @ Wolves, tip-off set for 7pm
- Rockets are looking to hold on to the 4th seed in the West
- Wolves are browsing time shares for next week
 
NHL: Wild 4, Blues 2
- The loss bumped the Blues from the top spot in the West as Anaheim moved by
- John Curry had 42 saves for the Wild
- Wild's regular season finale is Sunday when they host Nashville
- Single game playoff tickets go on sale Saturday
 
College Hockey Frozen Four
Union College 5, Boston College 4
Minnesota 2, North Dakota 1
- Gophers banged home the winning goal shorthanded with 0.6 seconds in the 3rd period. The goal was scored by Senior Justin Holl who had not scored all season long until that goal
- Minnesota will face Union College Saturday night at 6:30pm on ESPN
- First time for Minnesota in the National Championship game since 2003
 
Hobey Baker Award: Will be handed out at 6pm this evening in Philadelphia. 
- The Heisman for college hockey has 3 finalists for the award, the Hat Trick Finalists
- Johnny Gaudreau from Boston College
- Greg Carey from St. Lawrence University
- Nic Dowd from St. Cloud State
- Dowd has already signed a professional contract with the Los Angeles Kings

- Chad Welk was named as an assistant coach to the SCSU Men's coaching staff yesterday. Welk was an assistant with Southwest Minnesota State before
- SCSU's Men's Golf team will play for the 2014 NSIC title Saturday in Omaha, they are the defending champion
