Sports for Thursday, August 28th

                                                                                 

MLB: Royals 6, Twins 1

-      Twins lead 1-0 after 7, but the Royals exploded for 6 runs in the 8th

-      Phil Hughes was cruising only giving up 3 hits before he started the 8th

-      Twins and Royals finish up their 3 game set tonight, first pitch is at 7:10pm

-      Tommy Milone (6-4) vs. Jeremy Guthrie (10-10) is the pitching matchup

 

College Football:

-      Eastern Illinois makes to the trip to TCF tonight to take on the Golden Gophers, kick-off is set for 6pm

-      St. Cloud State will go on the road Mankato, a week from today

-      Johnnies start their season at home September 6th when they host Wisconsin-River Falls

 

-      Another day, another twist in the USC Josh Shaw story. Yesterday he admitted to the school that his tale of saving a drowning child was in fact a lie. LAPD are investigating him for a possible other crime. Shaw has been suspended indefinitely.

 

High School Sports:

-      The Metro Sports Commission will have Cathedral on 660AM as they are on the road against Holdingford tonight, pregame is set for 6:40pm 

-      Tomorrow night the Tech Tigers will be on the road at Sartell, you can hear that game on KNSI at 6:40pm. The Sauk Rapids-Rice Storm will be on 660 tomorrow night as well as they are in Willmar

 

NFL:

-      Vikings final preseason game is tonight against the Tennessee Titans tonight at 7pm

-      Last year’s leading receiver, Cleveland’s Josh Gordon, was suspended for a full season yesterday. He tested positive for marijuana
