COLLEGEVILLE, MN (KNSI) - Final approval has been given for the construction of new baseball and soccer fields at St. Johns University.
The baseball field featuring artificial turf is expected to be ready next spring. The soccer field will have a natural grass playing surface and team dugouts. It will be named Haws Field in honor of former longtime soccer coach Pat Haws.
Other athletic department improvements announced earlier by St. Johns include new artificial turf and lighting at Clemens Stadium, and new bleachers at Sexton Arena.
St. Johns Athletic Director Tom Stock says the upgrades will help the Johnnies remain competitive when it comes to athletic facilities in NCAA Division Three.
