MINNEAPOLIS (KNSI) In spring a baseball fan's fancy turns to thoughts of green green grass, sizzling hot dogs and the sharp crack of the bat. Throw the lovely Florida environ of Fort Myers into the mix and it all adds up to Minnesota Twins Baseball.
Good morning Central Minnesota! Your humble servant, sacrificing the last few(hopefully) glorious days of frozen side walks and bone chilling breezes to jaunt down to the Sunshine State to bring you the sights and sounds of Twins spring training baseball.
Over the next 5 days keep it tuned to AM 1450/FM 103.3 KNSI for a wide array of stories as I walk the streets in and around the Lee County Sports Complex. Players, coaches, broadcasters, scribes, front office personnel, you will hear their thoughts about the upcoming season and more.
But this trip is more than just to talk the ins and outs of your summertime heroes on the field. I hope to bring you stories that will peak your interest about Fort Myers itself, the area, the stadium, the people that run it, and the fans that flock to it. To sum this trip up, it is meant to give you the first look at the Twins and, perhaps maybe more importantly, to send a little spring back your way.
Well my boarding group is about to be called here at gate 17 at MSP so I'd better go. Follow my trip on the air and right here on knsiradio.com. Happy spring everybody!
KNSI's coverage of Twins Spring Training, directly from Fort Myers, is brought to you by Foley Lumber and Milaca Building Center, Jackson Hewitt, Bristow's and New York Gyro. Hear J.W. all throughout the day on the KNSI Morning Show with Don Lyons, The Bob Hughes Show and Ox in the Afternoon, along with on the KNSI Saturday Morning Show with Dave Phipps and The Benchwarmers.
