ST. CLOUD, Minn. (KNSI)- The Moorhead Spuds defeated the St. Cloud Tech Tigers 18-14 on Friday night.

Moorhead's Otis Weah returned the opening kick off 92 yards for a touchdown to give the Spuds a 6-0 lead.

Weah scored again in the 1st quarter on a 27 yard touchdown run. Weah was named the All Star Trophy and Awards Player of the Game.

Moorhead took a 18-0 lead in the 2nd quarter on quarterback Jack Stetz's one yard touchdown run.

Tech got on the scoreboard in the 2nd quarter on Scott Kippley's 9 yard touchdown run.

James Kaczor scored his 8th touchdown of the season in the 3rd quarter to cut the Spuds lead to 18-14.

The Tigers had the ball in Spuds territory with under 2 minutes left but Tech quarterback Nate Trewick threw an interception which allowed the Spuds to run out the clock.

Both teams are now 2-1. Tech takes on Sartell-St. Stephen next Friday and KNSI will broadcast that game live with coverage beginning at 6:45.
