(KNSI) - The Sauk Rapids Rice-Storm ended their season on Friday night with a 52-28 loss to Elk River.

It was the 6-5A Championship Game, and Elk River will continue on to the state tournament.

The Storm were coming off a victory over St. Cloud Tech last week.

The first quarter was competitive with the Storm scoring first.

In the second quarter, the Storm committed key turnovers that helped Elk River go into half time with a 28-14 lead.

The Storm lost their motivation in the second half of the game, as Elk River were able to just run the ball all over and add on another 24 points.

The final score of the game was 52-22 in favor of Elk River.

Elk River's Adam Nelson was selected as the All Star Trophy and Awards player of the game, with 19 yards for 163 yards and 2 touchdowns. He has become Elk River's all time leading rusher.
