(KNSI) - The Sartell Sabres boys hockey squad defeated the River Lakes Stars 6-1 on Tuesday night.

The 1st period stayed competitive, with the only goal being from Sartell's Maddux Hagy.

The score was 1-0 going into the 1st intermission.

Sartell broke out in the second period, scoring 4 goals, 2 of them coming from Lukas Spanier.

Both goals were short handed in the same penalty kill, less than a minute apart.

In the 3rd period. River Lakes finally got on the board with a goal 6 minutes in, but the Sabres answered it minutes later to keep a 5 goal lead.

The final score of the game was Sartell 6, River Lakes 1.

Lukas Spanier (pictured below) had 2 goals and was named the All Star Trophy and Awards Player of the game.
