(KNSI) - The Rocori Spartans lost to the Academy of Holy Angels Stars 20-8 on Friday night at Husky Stadium, ending their season.
It was Rocori's 4th year in a row in the state tournament, and their 9th appearance overall.
Throughout the game, the Spartans were unable to get any offense going.
The Stars' offense was quick, and quarterback Joseph Heimbold was fast on his feet, and scored both a rushing touchdown and a passing touchdown.
Heimbold gave the Stars a 13-0 lead going into halftime.
Rocori tried to kick an onside kick to start the second half, but was unable to convert and gave the Stars good field position to score another touchdown.
The Spartans lone touchdown came in the 3rd quarter when quarterback Jack Steil scrambled for 1 yard into the end zone, and made the game 20-8 after a 2 point conversion, which ended up being the final score of the game.
Jack Steil and Joseph Heimbold were selected as the All Star Trophy and Awards players of the game.
The Spartans finish the year with a 10-1 record.
Congratulations to the Rocori Spartans on a great season from all of us here at KNSI.
