(KNSI) - Eclipsing the 1,000 point mark in St. Cloud Cathedral girls basketball is quite the feat, but to have two athletes eclipse 1,000 points in the same game is almost unheard of.

However, that is exactly what happened Thursday, February 15th for the Cathedral Crusaders in Little Falls.

The impressive spectacle not only supplanted the two athletes into Cathedral’s All-Time Scoring Leaders list, it also earned them the All-Star trophy Player of the Week award.

Junior, Megan Voit scored her 1,000th point early in the 67-62 win against Little Falls. Joining Voit in the 1,000-point club was the only senior on the team, Kate Tomczik.

After their most recent game against Becker, Voit has 1,031 career points and Tomczik has 1,022.

Both girls are three-sport athletes at St. Cloud Cathedral. Along with basketball, Voit plays volleyball, softball and is the only female to referee basketball in the parochial school league on weekends.

Along with basketball, Tomczik runs cross-country, track and also competes for the knowledge bowl team that just won the Granite Ridge Conference Championship.

According to one Cathedral Faculty member, “Both are excellent students but more importantly, great people and wonderful role models to young athletes.”
