We are back for the fifth season with the same teams. From the Central Lakes Conference we will have: Sartell Sabres, Sauk Rapids Storm, St. Cloud Tech Tigers; St. Cloud Apollo Eagles and Rocori Spartans. From the Granite Ridge Conference; Albany Huskies, Becker Bulldogs and the Foley Falcons. From the Park Region Conference the Royalton/Uspala Royals and from the Central Minnesota Conference the Eden Valley Watkins Eagles.

Will bring you the individual results of the duals and Individual tournaments of all ten teams. Also the list of upcoming of events, current state ratings and conference standings. The Falcons defeated two Section 6AA rivals, they defeated AA Lean and Mean Annandale/Maple Lighting 45-27. They defeated the Lighting eight of the fourteen matches and they collected six falls in route to their big section win. In their second dual of the tri, they defeated the Big Lake Hornets 49-18. They won ten of fourteen matches, including four falls. The Falcons have built a 6-0 dual meet record for the 2017-2018 season. The Falcons earned third place at the 16 team event at the 51st Annual Brainerd “Paul Bunyan” invitational with 168 points. The No. 2A ranked Frazee won the event with 202 points and unranked AAA Bemidji was second with 182 points. They had fourteen place winners including two championships by: Mitch Trigg at 285, he is now 10-0 and Cameron Kowitz at 132, he is now 7-1. They earned three second places by; John Dierkes at 138, he is now 6-1, Mitch Rothfork at 152, he is now 6-1 and Levi Jacobson at 106, he is 7-2. Michael Rothfork earned third place at 138, Justin Henry earned fourth place at 182, he is now 10-2, Logan Kipka earned fifth place at 170 and Mark Dierkes earned fifth place at 132. A pair of sixth places were earned by; Christian Halverson at 145 and Max Lefebvre at 170 and Hunter Gorecki at 220, Connor Thorsten at 160 and Danny Halvorson all took seventh place. The Tigers opened their dual meet portion of their schedule with a big win over Central Lakes Conference foes the Fergus Falls Otters 64-15. The Tigers won eleven of the fourteen matches, including eight falls. The Tigers earned second place at the Willmar “Cardinal” Classic Invitational with 217 points and fourteen place winners, including five championships. Championships were won by Austin Brenner at 170, he is now 5-0, Graham Nistler at 160 he is now 6-1, Dallas Hooper at 152, he is now 5-2, Isaiah Green at 220, he is now 5-1 and Luke Rajkic at 132, he is 6-1. Aaron Voigt earned second place at 285 he is 5-1 and Tyler Hugg earned second place a 182, Drew Kiffmeyer earned third place at 195, Drevion Hemingway earned third place at 126 and Payton Christianson earned third place

at 285. The Tigers earned four fourth places by: Tayler Zachman at 145, Braxton Garceau at 182, Federico Santiago at 106 and Rheave Danford at 120. They earned a pair of fifth places by Jayden Sundstrom at 170 and Jack Latterall at 138. Special note; congratulations to Graham Nistler won his 100th career match.

The Spartans split a pair of duals at the Albany Husky Triangular. They defeated the Huskies 37-31, as they spit the matches seven a piece. The dropped a dual to their Section 8AAA rivals the Little Falls Flyers. They lost 35-24, as they won six of the thirteen matches actually wrestled. Please see all the individual results below. Gavin Winter, Austin Moscho, Gunnar Feldhege, Max Court and Nate Evens all went 2-0 at the Albany Triangular. The Spartans dropped a dual to their Section 8AAA and Central Lakes Conference rivals, the No. 5AAA ranked Willmar Cardinals 63-6.


The Huskies opened their dual meet portion of their season, they dropped both duals, they lost to Rocori 37-31 and 41-30 to Little Falls, again they earned a seven match split. Gabe Zierden, Marvin Stang, Austin Olmscheid, Will Mergen and Connor Winkels all went 2-0 at the triangular. The Huskies had a great tournament performance with 168.5 points to earn second place at the Big Lake “Hornet” Invitational. This was a thirteen team field of teams, with Section 6AA rivals and the host the Big Lake Hornets winning the event. The Huskies had eleven place winners, including two championships by Gabe Zierden at 195, he is now 7-0 and Marvin Stang at 285, he is now 8-0. They earned three second places by: Will Mergen at 126, Dustin Schmitt at 120 and Owen Meyer at 152. Austin

Olmscheid earned third place at 170 and Javier Solis earned fourth place a 132. They earned three fifth places by: Logan Kittleson at 160, Riley Rakotz at 182 and Carter Fish at 220, Connor Winkels took sixth place at 113.

The Bulldogs defeated their rivals from the Granite Conference and Section 7AA Mora Mustangs 30-18. The Bulldogs won ten of the fourteen matches in the dual. The Bulldogs earned fifth place at the Delano “Tigers” Invitational with 138.5 points and nine place winners. Jake Nelson at 113, he is 5-0 and Nick Radunz at 285, he is 6-0 both won championships. Lukas Paulson at 126 earned third place, he is 6-1, Ethan Anderson at 106 earned third place, he is 5-1 and Bryden Weber at 182 earned third place, he is 6-1. Blake Paulson earned fourth place at 145, they earned a pair of fifth places by; Jacob Berning at 145, he is 5-2, Logan Jurek at 152 and Kevin Andrews took sixth place at 138.

The Sabres opened their dual meet portion of their season with a pair of big wins at the Sauk Rapids triangular. They defeated their Section 8AAA and Central Lakes Conference rivals the Sauk Rapids/Rice Storm and Section 7AA foe Milaca. They beat the Storm 41-34, winning eight of the fourteen matches and they defeated the Wolves 43-23, winning nine of the thirteen matches. Jackson Penk, Nick Pelach, Cole Fibranz, Sam Fernholz, Dylan Enriquez, Jack Ingle and Austin Frauenholtz all went 2-0 at the Sauk Rapids Triangular. The Sabres had a good tournament performance with 149 points and ten place winners to earn third place a the Big Lake “Hornet” Invitational. This tourney included thirteen teams, including several area teams. They won three championships by: Cole Fibranz at 220, he is 7-0, Jackson Penk at 126, he is 7-0 and Nick Pelach at 132, he is 7-0. Earning second place; Jack Engle at 182 and third place by Sam Fernholz at 138, he is now 6-2. They earned three fifth places by: Dylan Enriquez at 106, Andy Heckemann at 113 and Patrick Hesse at 120 and both Dylan Gerdes at 160 and Nick Daffinrud at 195 both took sixth place.


The Storm opened their dual meet portion of their season by hosting a triangular. They defeated their Section 7AA foe Milaca 34-30, they won eight of the fourteen matches. They dropped a dual to Section 8AAA and Central Lakes Conference, cross town rival, the Sartell/St. Stephen Sabres 41-34. They won six matches of the fourteen, one they lost by default after leading, that may have given them a split at seven a peice. The Storm earned seven place winners at the Shakopee “Sabre” Invitational. Jared Spohn won their lone championship at 120 and they earned a second place by: Andrew Wallok at 113 and three third places by Cole Ackerman at 132, Jake Ackerman at 152 and Dante Haywood at 113 and Marcus Santillana took sixth place at 170.

The Royals defeated Section 4A foe Howard Lake/Winsted/Waverly 39-34, earned a split of seven matches a piece. They also defeated Minneapolis North, another Section 4A foe 50-0. The individual results of the North wasn't available at the time of this writing. The Royals earned fifth place at the Andover “Husky” Invitational with 105 points. They were short about four starters, they were just nine points out second place. They had seven place winners; including one

championship by Jackson Held at 160. He defeated the No. 3AA ranked wrestler in the championship, he has now built his record to 7-0 on the season. Jason Kasella earned second place at 220, he was defeated by the No. 2AA 195 in the championship, he now has a 7-1 record on the season. Damion Theisen earned third place at 145, he is now 7-3 on the season. Lyle Zimmerman, in his first action of the season, earned third place at 170. Will Gorecki at 106 and Jacob Leibold at 126 both earned fourth places and Brady Conrad at 138 took sixth place.

The Eagles earned sixth place with 97 points with eight place winners, including a pair of championships. Brett Kirchner at 160, he is 5-0 on the season and Tanner Blommer at 145. Trevor Schroeder at 120 and Isaac Erickson at 182 both earned third place, Zach Willard earned fourth place at 220, John Thomas III earned fifth place at 138 and Hunter Madison at 152 and Carlos Agee at 285 both took sixth place.


The Eagles earned seventh place at the Willmar “Cardinal Classic” Invite with 64 points. They had four place winners, including one championship by Taylor Ludwig at 126 and Trevyn Ludwig earned second place at 145. Zach Nistler at 138 and Aaron Holmberg at 220 both earned fourth places.
