(KNSI) - The Kiffmeyer Duals continued to display the great wrestling talent the state of Minnesota has to offer.
St. Cloud Technical High School hosted and competed with such local schools as Sauk Rapids-Rice and Foley.
Apple Valley, Albert Lea and Hastings rounded-out the tough and highly competitive field.
Apple Valley was just too much for the other teams as they took home the first place trophy after an impressive 50-25 victory over Albert Lea Area.
Foley ended the tournament in fourth place and Sauk Rapids-Rice defeated Tech for fifth place.
Jared Spohn (pictured below) of Sauk Rapids-Rice had an impressive tournament by going 3-0 at 126-pounds while pinning all three of his opponents, including Nic Cantu of Albert Lea.
Cantu is currently the fourth-ranked wrestler at 126-pounds in AAA; Spohn is ranked seventh at 120.
The tournament ended with a cross-town battle between Sauk Rapids-Rice and Tech for fifth place with Sauk Rapids-Rice coming out on top.
Although Tech received back-to-back pins at 225 and 285 from Hunter Haupert and Carlos Agee, they still fell to the Storm 36-30.
Some notable accomplishments from the tournament included Zach Glazier of Albert Lea winning his 200th match and Ben Gilbertson of Sauk Rapids-Rice winning his 50th.
